Lab Testing + Interpretation

Getting To the Root of Illness & Optimizing Health

Lab testing helps me get the the root of what is causing disease and discomfort. As a Naturopathic Doctor, my goal is to understand each patient as thoroughly as possible, and to treat your symptoms while addressing the root cause.

Lab testing can show us what is causing your symptoms, which in turn guides treatment.
Here are some examples of labs I commonly recommend:

Comprehensive Blood Panel: This is an excellent starting point in my patient protocols. Doing a comprehensive panel screens for many diseases and can catch a trend towards disease before it’s too late to reverse it.

Food Sensitivity Testing: Food is foundational. The foods you regularly consume could be causing symptoms like headache, fatigue, inflammation, body pain, and mental health imbalance. This test screens for 180 commonly consumed foods which may be causing an IgG inflammatory response.

Hormonal Health: Hormonal imbalances profoundly affect health and wellbeing. These chemical messengers are complex and comprehensively woven into all biologic functions in the body. With the lab assessment, I can tailor a program for your unique hormonal needs.

GI Testing: Health starts in the gut! Microbiology plays a crucial role in your health and since most microbes living on or within the body are beneficial, distinguishing those that are disease-producing is a critical function of GI tests. Testing can screen for leaky gut, gut function, SIBO, parasites, candida, bacterial overgrowth, and autoimmune reactions.

Heavy Metal Testing:  Lifelong exposure to common heavy metals such as mercury, lead, and arsenic can lead to chronic health disorders, especially neurodegenerative disease. This test allows you to see your status and guides detoxification protocols based on your results.

DNA Genetic Testing: This test analyzes 32 genes in six key areas of health: Cognition & Mental Acuity, Cardiometabolic, GI & Immune, Stress & Emotional Wellbeing, Inflammation, and Sleep. For each at-risk gene result, the test report specifies holistic health steps patients can take to achieve better health.
